Participation in the European Development Days (EDD)

Promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries - FOMECC, Cultural Rights to Promote Development and Health - DECIDES, Culture for All - phase III. Kosovo, Working together for the public value of culture in the Southern Mediterranean - SouthMed CV and Culture and Arts supporting social cohesion in Latin American cities - LAIC were the main initiatives carried out by Interarts and which the foundation presented at the European Development Days (EDD), at the stand shared with six organisations also involved in promoting the role of culture in sustainable development: Culture et Développement, Africalia, BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts, Agenda 21 for culture, More Europe and the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM). The EDD, organised by the European Commission on 15 and 16 June in Brussels, Belgium, provided over 4,000 participants with a comprehensive programme of speeches, bilateral meetings, artistic performances and debates. Among the latter, of note was Culture, where art thou?, in which the Interarts Director, Mercedes Giovinazzo, took part together with Simone Cipriani, Founder and Director of the Ethical Fashion Initiative, Jyoti Hosagrahar, Director of UNESCO´s Division for Creativity, Lynette Micheni, Director of the Pawa 254 programme, and Nina Obuljen Korzinek, researcher at the Institute for Development and International Relations. The debate was moderated by the Editor-in-chief of MO** Magazine, Gie Goris.
