The popularity of crowdfunding as a source of finance for cultural and creative actors has encouraged the European Commission to open a public consultation in order to gather citizens' views regarding this practice. The objective of this action is to identify users' needs as well as the areas in which there is a potential added value in EU action to encourage the growth of this model, thus contributing to ensure trust among those who, through crowdfunding, help to finance concrete projects. The Commission has particularly invited national authorities and crowdfunding platforms to participate in this public consultation. The consultation will run until 31 December 2013.
