Conclusion of Advisory and Support Activities in Urabá (Colombia)

In the framework of the ''Promotion of the commercial network of the cultural sector in the Antioquia region, Urabá sub-region, FOMECC Colombia'' project carried out by Interarts and the Cultural Enterprises Program of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Antioquia, with the support of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), the second phase of group and individual training of entrepreneurs form Arboletes (Urabá, Colombia) concluded in June. During the process, 18 entrepreneurs from the fields of music, theatre, visual arts, journalism, crafts, cultural management and other related fields received training in specific areas of entrepreneurship such as contracts and cultural legislation, branding, marketing, market strategies, communication and technologies, etc. On the other hand, advice was also provided to 19 public servants (councillors, cultural managers and representatives of local authorities) from the municipalities of Arboletes, Necoclí and San Juan and other cities of Urabá. These activities aimed to explore public policies and offer theoretical and practical elements for local cultural development. After these activities, the project enters in its final phase, prior to its completion in October 2013.
