Séminaire 'Art et Culture pour des Villes Inclusive en Amérique Latine et en Europe'

One of the first activities of the project Culture and arts in support of social cohesion in Latin American cities - LAIC is a seminar that will take place on 22 June at the BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Discussions will be held on the role that culture and artistic practices have in promoting social cohesion, inclusive urban development, community work, citizen empowerment, cultural policies and development programs in Latin America and Europe alike. The seminar is organised and coordinated by Interarts in collaboration with BOZAR Centre for Fine Arts, which are the two organisations implementing the project with the support of financed by the General Directorate of International Cooperation and Development, Latin America and the Caribbean, regional programmes for Latin America and the Caribbean (Unit G2) of the European Commission. A debate, opened to the general public, will take place at BOZAR on ´Arts & Culture for Inclusive Cities - Latin America - Europe´ at 6:15 PM. The debate will convene experts such as Carlos Uribe, architect, cultural operator and historian from Colombia, Edgar Endress, artist from Chile currently working in USA, Myriam Stoffen, Director of Zinneke in Brussels, and Matteo Ferroni, architect from Italy. The debate will be introduced by Marc Litvine, Senior Expert, DG DEVCO, and moderated by Mercedes Giovinazzo, Director of Interarts. LAIC seeks to explore specific proposals that contribute to developing more open, tolerant, sustainable and safe cities, through a cultural approach.
