The Committee of the Regions' Conference on Culture and Creativity

On 29 January, the Committee of the Regions hosted a conference in Brussels entitled 'Culture and Creativity: Europe's regions and cities making a difference', which brought together a wide range of stakeholders in order to discuss success stories from cultural and creative sectors and their impact on local development. In the context of the recent launch of the European Commission's Creative Europe programme, the event also aimed to facilitate 'creative networking' among participants and to inform of new funding opportunities. A background note on the role of the cultural and creative sectors in local and regional development was circulated before the conference. Interarts attended the event.
