Participation in a British Council Roundtable on the Creative Economy

On 18 June, the British Council's Creative and Cultural Economy Programme hosted a roundtable discussion entitled 'Creative Industries in Development' in London. The event brought together several public and private agencies, including Interarts, as well as individual experts, with the aim of exchanging experience and best practice regarding the role of the creative industries in achieving sustainable social and economic development. The roundtable addressed the challenges and opportunities that the global creative economy represents in achieving international development goals and discussed the feasibility of developing more cohesive international engagement among different stakeholders and more sustainable networks for knowledge exchange. A report of the meeting will be published on the Creative and Cultural Economy Programme's website soon.
