Debate on Cultural and Creative Industries in Catalonia and Europe

On 29 May, a debate on the future of the cultural and creative industries in Catalonia and Europe was held in Barcelona. Around 100 people attended the event, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona and Interarts. The debate focused on the role that the sector should play in the current European context or its ability to contribute to economic growth, from the perspective of the cultural sector in Catalonia. Speakers at the event included Mercedes Giovinazzo, Interarts' director and president of Culture Action Europe's Executive Committee. The event was closed by Ferran Mascarell, Minister of Culture of the Catalan Government. More information.
