Haitian Cultural Industries Benefit from UNESCO Technical Assistance

Funded by the European Union, UNESCO undertook the first of two technical assistance missions from 25 October to 4 November. The aim of the assistance is to support the Haitian Ministry of Culture and Communication in its efforts to define a national policy for the country's cultural industries. Through consultations with various stakeholders, two international experts, Youma Fall and William Codjo, will examine the current situation and will provide their expertise to the Ministry so that it may design an action plan and roadmap that will set the future orientation for legal and institutional frameworks. This expert mission is part of an EU-funded UNESCO Technical Assistance Programme to reinforce the Governance of Culture in 13 developing countries through the development of policies to encourage dynamic cultural and creative industries.
