ARTerial Report: Freedom of Cultural Expression in Africa

The ARTerial network, in the context of its ArtWatch Africa project aimed at monitoring the challenges and constraints on freedom of creative expression in African countries, has recently published a report presenting the initial research results. Following a mapping exercise covering 70% of Africa, the report highlights the growing interest that this question has started to raise across the continent, as well as the risks that artistic expressions and creative practitioners come under because of their alternative ideas and the challenges they may pose to the status quo.
