Activities in the Audiovisual Sector in Medellin, Colombia

In the framework of the ''FOMECCBiz Medellin-Barcelona Project: Generation of Cultural and Creative Business Network for Local Development'', developed by Interarts together with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Antioquia and with the support of the ''Barcelona Solidària'' Programme of the City of Barcelona, from 4 to 7 June different activities related to the audiovisual sector in Medellin, Colombia were organised. First, a workshop on audiovisual production, led by international expert Toni Marín Vila, was carried out during which three projects by local companies 4B1D, La Nueva Compañía and Curubito Production were analysed to be developed in a transmedia environment. On the other hand, on 7 June a seminar on audiovisual associative processes was organised in order to consolidate the work carried out in recent years to strengthen bottom-up processes and interaction of the cultural entrepreneurship and to present networking opportunities in a broader context, both regional and international. The seminar brought together over 60 people and included presentations by Toni Marín Vila and by Interarts' Dace Kiulina; representatives from the Audiovisual, Video and Animation Association (AVA); the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications; the Ministry of Trade; the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Medellin; the Chamber of Commerce of Medellin; the Musician's Union (USM) of Medellin, and Cinefilia. It is worth mentioning that both events were organised in collaboration with the AVA Association.
